The little girl slept very deep.
In her hands,a plush rabbit that sang her to sleep.
Its fur was a fuzzy white.

It was very cuddly at night.
And together, the little girl never felt alone.
Alas,that was many years ago.

And the little girl had grown independent.
Healthy and strong.
She loved the rabbit for very long.

She still does.
And they sing this song.
We will meet somewhat late.

When you no longer need me and got your fate.
For ever if now my plush body is stained and old.
With my eye buttons stitched back on.

I will still love you for centuries ahead.
And cherish our childhood memories.
The grown woman had been cleaning one day.

And found in a dusty box,her childhood toy astray.
The one that sang her to sleep on stormy nights.
The one, that helped her cope and reach new heights.

And even with it now falling apart.
The little girl had given the rabbit her own heart.
So that it gets all the love it deserves.

Childhood toys truly are precious.
Whether now held or stashed away.
There were once children with who they used to play.

The girl put it on her shelf on display.
She didn’t want to give it away.
Not yet,atleast.

Kids out there grow up with books and toys.
And some give them away.
Others keep them, even if they don’t play.

Memories are precious.
My whole fur no longer luscious.
But it will all be yours someday.

Played with,dusting or stashed away.
Rabbits,frogs.
Dogs and toads.

All made with fabric.
Yes,we do feel,so don’t ruin the magic.
Some are found, others end up tragic.

With a thread and needle, sewing up the fabric.
This is the story of an old plush rabbit.
