I have these scars onto my chest.
I feel hideous because of them.
And so it disturbs my rest.

I got them way long ago.
When I fought my biggest foe.
I often hide them,I despise them.

Yet,they make me look unique.
They call them my battle scars.
Because i got them when I fought.

My demons, trying not to give up entirely.
Trying not to rot.
But then someone came and told me.

Don’t give up.
Those aren’t ugly scars before me.
They show you are strong.

They show you fought for so long.
And yet,I can’t help but feel like this.
Like I shouldn’t have been born.

And I always wanted to live in bliss.
For peace to find me.
To show my scars off and not hide them behind me.

I have those slashes onto my chest.
But people never show the rest.
I’m a man born long ago.

When time and music flow.
Yet I feel like I shouldn’t have been born.
Look at me,my chest is torn.

And I sometimes feel like a mess.
I’m scared to show the rest of me and my flaws.
So I hang and stay by the crows.

The person came again and said to me.
Your scars don’t define you.
People can still find you.

Deep within lies your true self.
We never cared about any flaws.
Nor battle scars.

Who walked all alone all this way.
Your thoughts being in replay.
Yet,your chest is slashed.

Torn and then eventually healed.
Healing often leaves a scar.
But I know years will go far.

I know it’s hard to accept your battle scars.
I have mine too.
And sometimes, people can be judgemental and cruel.

He replied, but my battle scars are ugly.
No,they define the internal war you had.
We all have them,it’s not so bad.

I know this will slowly heal with time aswell.
And eventually, they become invisible and pale.
Scars don’t define you.

And the real friends can still find you.
