I wonder what will happen when the fight leaves me
When the desire to do what’s right
to push forward in the face of all the naysayers
I wonder how I feel like when the last flicker of the spark illuminates the darkness one more time
That will not be today or tomorrow
I was told I was born stubborn.
From the very get go I had to have my own way
You see when I’m hyper focused
When the lights before me is an inferno,
that I must run into
There is no way for it to be diminished
Still, it is a wonder what will happen
It’s a steeper hill than usual as of late
I’ve climbed many mountains and navigate it
to make sure my footing is placed well
But the incline has been getting more difficult
Footing is almost not as secure.
I will keep climbing. There is no other option
Still, the thought runs through my mind of that last flicker.
And how it will go out.
Will I give the good fight?
Will I keep trying?

Powerfully penned, Fia. Excellent write my friend, I’ve always been a fan of your musings. This one does not disappoint. Nicely done. Appreciate you, cuz.

Thank you, Damian;))
Thank you for sharing your musings with us!
Life comes without a safety net. To think that we have control is an illusion. But everyone of us has a reliable inner compass knowing what’s right or wrong and guiding us. It’s called intuition, and we can trust it. It’s your tour guide while climbing mountains. It won’t lead you astray.
Thank you, Sappho, I love how you said that intuition is my tour guide. Put a smile on my face.
If one tries, that is success…well done, Fia.
Thank you, Atticus;))
The first line is amazing, gripping. The rest of the poem builds well. I’m a minimalist. The first line can hold its own.
Regards James
Thank you. I often write a line and let it sit and see where it goes.
Thank you. Knight
Chère F.,
I don’t wonder/care why your.work resonates so deep with me; I am happy that it does.
This is another one to be grateful for.
I am sure you are familiar with the: use it or lose it thing?
It’s not applicable for muscles alone! I truly believe that.
My wish for you is to use it a lot!
Warm greetings, Gus

I’m a fighter. I have things to be done Sam. lol Thank you;))
The world needs fighters who will stand for things that are right. Of course you get tired, but if the spirit is strong, the strength will come.
Thank you, Sam. I’m a fighter;))
