All Chapters in the Series: Poems

Waiting rooms are long and bleak.
Full of people who want to speak.
To get your turn is a rare chance.

And the lights often flicker.
The tension is thick and the coffee is bitter.
When they call out your name, you play a game.

That includes being judged from every angle.
And the rules are unfair.
Sometimes, they even laugh at you if you have no hair.

It truly is cruel.
The waiting room often makes you into a fool.
And so they call out the next name.

The game continues, the rules never the same.
The ones who judge the game are society medieval.
And some are truly judgemental.

Or even evil.
The waiting room has hallways, long and dark.
Sometimes it can make one lose motivation or their spark.

But does the place have to be dark?
Can’t we decorate this place?
Surely that would put a smile on their face.

Alas, the waiting room is often truly evil.
It discriminates anyone different or civil.
People wait for eternity, then it’s too late.

They sometimes don’t even hear out your debate.
They use labels.
Makes me want to save those patients and turn the tables.

If only I could speed up or destroy the ways of the waiting room.
Clean up burnt ashes with a broom.
And try to make flowers all around bloom.

The waiting room is an all feared place.
They judge the patients with disgust on their face.
So why do we wait there for all eternity?

Do we really have to go?
Can’t we just openly seek help?
Alas, this is the society I call, the waiting room.
