I will give you a hypothetical scenario.
If you found a box of everything you lost, what would you look for?
Would you search for somebody’s love?

Would you search for the person you never had met?
Or the sensation of beach sand so wet?
How about a lost childhood toy?

One you loved before you had to work and employ.
Would you look for the sweetness of your 18th birthday cake?
Perhaps a time your smile wasn’t fake.

If it were me ,on the other hand.
I would look for my life and what it meant.
Maybe I would look for the starry skies.

Times the moon was there for me.
When sleep takes over and life leaves me be.
Maybe I would look for my childhood toy.

Or maybe my lost smile.
Just something to make it worthwhile.
If a box like that were presented to me.

I would feel joy and my wings would flee.
Would that day be a dream?
Because it wouldn’t feel oh so real.

I wish it were that simple.
I wish it were something I could feel.
Will the box be decorated in blue or pink?

Will it be filled with starlight glimmer?
If I ever get that box,I would feel like a winner.
Let the box be filled with secret wishes and stars.

And show it to the aliens that live on Mars.
Let it bring me well deserved contentment and joy.
And give one to every kid with a new toy.

Maybe one day,I would find that box.
And hopefully it isn’t filled with dirt and rocks.
But if it were dirt from my childhood days.

I would shine on it sunshine rays.
And grow something new out of it.
Like a dandelion oh so free.

Give me that box and set me free.
Will I always shine as bright?
But I know I will always be welcomed by the night.
