They speak of a creature far in the woods.
He speaks a language unknown.
And always broods.

His name is the memory collector.
He feasts on memories divine.
No matter the creation or time.

He likes happy memories most.
Because they don’t make him feel like a ghost.
From childhood,as a host.

And dislikes traumatic memories.
He says they taste bitter.
And happy memories are sweeter.

Sometimes,he goes and steals.
Memories from people all around.
So that he feels loved and found.

And when numbness strikes, memories lose sweetness.
Childhood memories are a delicacy.
Or atleast for him.

His past is mysterious, his eyes dim.
And he’s not what it seem.
Is he a savior?

Is he a villain?
Everyone thinks differently.
But hear me out,he feasts on happiness.

And the memories he found.
Feels anxious in a big crowd.
On occasion,he takes bad memories away.

So that people feel better all the way.
Abnd so,no,he’s not evil.
Deep down he’s kind.

Kindest soul you could find.
He just tries to survive.
For he has no happy memories of his own.

Always alone in his cozy home.
He wished to one day be on a throne.
To be adored and loved.

But since he is a creature from mythology, people don’t trust him.
They are all against him.
But yet, they don’t know his story.

Raised like a normal person.
But there is a curse he always had.
He has no happiness of his own,so he feeds on happy memories.

He tries his best, gets peaceful rest.
But the thought doesn’t let him rest.
He tries to forget the lonely nights.

And so he watches couples from afar.
Deep down,he believed in a shining star.
And perhaps the ethereal moonlight.

Hold onto your hope,to him I say.
Like the rulers of night and day.
