I still have a memory from countless moons ago.
A serene voice sang through the night.
Gave us strength to get up and fight.

And one by one,the nights went by.
She offered us a home and shoulder to cry.
She sang the words oh so sweet.

Come with me,my children.
I will show you all the way.
To a land of nighttime where you will laugh and play.

You’ll forever be friends with night and day.
Although mostly night.
But no,it’s not scary.

So feel no fright.
She took us with her at the night.
And defended us from monsters and beasts.

I still remember this like it wasn’t long ago.
A land of shadows and enchantment.
With her,nights never felt scary.

No,it brought us all warmth and comfort.
For we are her children of the night.
And from then on,we never felt any fright.

We played among her garden of shadows.
It was filled with moonlit flowers.
And we sang nursery rhymes besides the stars.

She sang,follow me,my sweet children.
It’s time to get into the dark and play.
You’ll never want to go away.

And you won’t ever weep.
Then,I will bring you home and let you sleep.
And so,she was like our mother.

We met up at night after day.
Where we went into the shadows to play.
But ever since she came, the dark wasn’t scary.

For she showed us her enchanted garden of shadows.
Her serene voice said, come sing with me into the calm and the quiet.
The night shall be your best friend.

And you shall not fear me either.
That is what we were, her children of the night.
She gave us peaceful sleep through the night.

And as she went away we got older,we admired her.
We saw her in the galaxy filled with stars.
And we visited daily her garden of shadows.

Come,my dear children,out to play.
If only nights like this couldn’t go away.
She was our mother when we strayed away.
