Theater

At night,I stood by the stage.
Life lived as minimal wage,and I wait for the actors to appear.
They are on stage,but not near.

It’s like it portrayed all my fear.
I spotted someone,and loved their mask and everything oh so dear.
On this stage,life was crystal clear.

The actors soon appeared in the theater.
They wore colorful masks.
They portrayed life itself.

And the end of the show was near.
They danced and pranced.
They even pulled me up on the stage.

And for once,I didn’t feel in a cage.
The jester with a mask held out his hand.
I took it gladly,wondering what it meant.

And even though I couldn’t see his eyes.
i felt warm,and the stage made you fantasize.
The play went quite smoothly.

Slow,not abruptly.
And I didn’t want it to end just yet.
The actors soon took off their masks.

And I realized what was on their faces.
One represented the future.
Another represented the past.

The one who held me was present.
And I realized what this play was.
Life is often like a play on stage.

Some moments make you happy.
And others,sad.
Alas ,we rarely ever wonder what is under the actors’ masks.

The future was something that we worry.
The present is the one we hurry.
And the past is often blurry.

Take rest,then back to hurry.
Because life often runs out in a flash.
For now,I enjoyed the play.

At this worn out,ancient theater.
And I put on a mask so I could also perform.
Life often makes you change your form.

And my own mask will represent change.
Change of hat,change of heart.
Whether I desire it or not.

And so,everyday we participate in this play.
In a worn out vessel, ancient theater.
What will the masks reveal?

You were born,so you signed the deal.
