The Mindscape

Let me bring you to yet another of my worlds.
For I am a poet,I create with the feather of a hen.
And my poetry always has a plan.

Right now we are in a world I called,the mindscape.
What does it contain,you ask?
Well,to explain would be a task.

It’s a void made of memories and wonder.
Thoughts,emotions that make you ponder.
Sounds,experiences,rarely empty of woe.

But in it,here,you can find no foe.
IT’s a world of fantasy and magic – memories from books you’ve read.
Happiness,devotions,and the day you got wed.

In here,you can find memories of the present and past.
And the childhood smell of freshly cut grass.
The memories of birds chirping and hot summer nights.

Or of all your past struggles and fights.
Yes,the mindscape has all sorts of things.
All custom to your own mind.

When you enter,the guards scan all inside your head.
And the ethereal gates slowly open.
When you walk in,you find a black ink,a void.

But of contents,it’s not devoid.
It contains all of your experiences and devotions.
All of your past memories and emotions.

All your childhood smells,gathered on wooden shelves.
And to help find things,you ask the elves.
Your favorite childhood moments full of joy.

Captured in glowing orbs,each with a toy.
All of your beloved pets,all your past regrets.
As you reach through the library of your mind.

And when you leave,the guards welcome you back in when you are back.
But maybe,just maybe.
We can all access that realm,even without magic.

If we just focus in our heads.
After a while,we’ll wake up in our beds.
For the guards let us safely reach home.

In the mindscape,we are never alone.
