Empty Eyes

On the outside,sometimes her eyes are full of life.
Full of happiness.
Or devoid of life,in the starry might.

Sometimes they twinkle and glow.
Sometimes she breaks down and tears flow.
But if you look closer just one day.

You’ll find emptiness,but not all the way.
Surely her eyes still have life.
In them,in her carcass of a body.

Surely she isn’t alone.
Surely she has somebody.
Sometimes her eyes are like melty chocolate.

Happy,irresistable ,sweet.
Other times they are devoid of life.
And emptiness,sadness meet.

I know,I’m sorry,but I can’t help it.
Sometimes my eyes seem empty.
Other times they are lively.

I can’t help how I look.
When the night takes over and I sleep.
Peacefully,very deep.

Sometimes,I can’t help but wonder.
How come people like my eyes?
Even when I let out tired sighs?

And when I see the way people look at my eyes.
They say,they look delicious.
And time flies.

So please,don’t ask me all over again.
No ,I’m not tired.
Or atleast not physically.

I’m not grumpy,nor mad.
But my eyes sometimes look like I lied.
Sometimes,emptiness cannot be denied.

And what is this girl with empty eyes?
Does her heart say truths or lies?
Everyday,she hears the same words all over again.

Are you tired?
Are you sleepy?
And are you mad?

Those are the questions I was given.
So often it drives you mad.
So you try to appreciate all you had.

What is this girl with empty chocolate eyes?
Would you use her brown eyes for desserts or pies?
If her eyes were caves,they would be so unique.

Sparkly diamonds,chocolate bars.
But sometimes the diamonds are hollow.
And the chocolates slightly moldy.

Will you travel anyway into her eyes?
Find out the source of her sighs?
Empty eyes,tired sighs.

She shuts her lights off and sleeps.
Where emptiness no longer reeks.
And the moon protects and winks.
