It’s been a while since I was a little kid.
Yet,I still remember all the fun and things we did.
Dear childhood,are you still there?

Are you inside,deep in there?
To me,even after all the years have passed.
I still remember every little thing.

And the days we laid on the grass.
Dear childhood,do you remember them aswell?
The friends we cherished oh so well?

One drove away,the other disappeared.
And the third stabbed me in the back.
Sometimes,I catch a whiff.

And the scent reminds me of memories from before.
Such as happy birthdhays, the older we grow.
And we wished life could go slower.

The volume,turned down lower.
And the happy memories lasting longer.
I will soon reach a certain age, where I am no longer a teenager.

But still kicking and young.
There is so much I want to say.
If only I could go back to my childhood for one day.

I would be thankful all the way.
Dear childhood,you served well.
I still appreciate you all the way.

But I will have to eventually grow up and stray away.
The child in me will never die.
She says to me,you’ll succeed in anything you try!

I know for sure it’s not a lie.
Because some of the magic is still there.
Like when I reread my childhood stories.

Of princesses and frogs.
Lost crystal shoes and ticking clocks.
Wishing I could be the character.

My tastes changed over the years, that’s true.
But to not cherish those memories would make me a fool.
When we are no longer kids,we earn a special tool.

Like a supportive friend as we sit on a stool.
I’m a lost girl from Neverland.
Usually wishing or chilling in the sand.

Sitting and wondering what it all meant.
