- Me and in me!
India has always been a land of simplicity and sacrifice. No matter how much many people earn, they still bargain carefully, spend cautiously, and save for tomorrow.
When I look at Indian men and women, I see hardworking souls — simple clothes, tired yet determined faces, humble lifestyles, and hearts that think more about family than themselves. Many wear modest, low-priced clothing, avoid luxury brands, and quietly build savings over the years. Even with wealth in the bank, simplicity remains their identity.
At times, seeing such simplicity makes outsiders assume they are poor. I have even heard remarks from foreign leaders saying Indian women are not beautiful. But I disagree completely. Indian men and women have beautiful features, graceful personalities, and strong physiques shaped by resilience and hard work.
America feels very different. People there often spend freely, enjoy the present, wear brands proudly, and live with fewer savings. Individual happiness is given importance, while family responsibilities may not hold the same central place they do in India.
These differences are deeply rooted in culture and customs. Indians often work their entire lives postponing personal desires, dreaming instead about securing the future of their children and families.
Having lived in both countries, I feel there is wisdom in both ways of life. Indians can learn to care a little more for themselves, fulfill some of their own dreams, and enjoy life along the journey — while still keeping family values alive.
I love India deeply, and I also admire a few things about America. Both worlds have lessons to offer.
