People often say I am doing too many things at once. But when I think about it, from childhood itself we were trained to learn multiple subjects every single day — Math, Science, Social, Hindi, English, Telugu — six subjects back to back, year after year. So why should learning stop now?
Today, I am learning tailoring, art, fashion designing, nutrition, and preparing for LAWCET. None of these are one-month goals. They are long-term skills that require patience, consistency, and years of learning. Instead of overwhelming me, they have actually boosted my confidence.
I learned how to cut clothes, including kurtas for my son. I am learning stitching on a sewing machine. I discovered that pencil sketching is not as difficult as I once thought. Nutrition feels easy to understand with a little effort and discipline. And for LAWCET, I strongly believe I can qualify. Alongside all this, I still dream of preparing for a full-time MBA at IIM — a dream I carried since my college days.
These pursuits are not just keeping me busy; they are helping me build real-life skills. If anyone observes my journey carefully, they will understand that I started with low-investment skills that can continue to provide income even after retirement. Step by step, I am trying to rise from scratch toward a stronger career and a secure future.
The fields I chose are not purely based on passion; they are based on value, survival, and impact. I chose fields where I can stand on my own feet even if life leaves me alone someday.
If I work hard in tailoring and fashion designing, I can one day build a clothing manufacturing unit that creates employment for many people. Through nutrition, I can help people lead healthier lives. Through law, I want to understand society better, protect myself and others, and stand for justice and safety. Law is also one profession where knowledge and service never truly retire.
At the same time, to make my parents happy, I continue my career in the oil and gas industry. I still have nearly 20 years of service left where I can perform well and grow professionally. My dream is to complete an MBA from a top IIM and continue building a meaningful career.
I do want to start a manufacturing business someday, but right now I do not have savings or strong financial support. My husband advises me to stay practical and avoid losing money, so for now I am focusing on learning, growing, and taking small but steady steps.
I shared this not to prove anything, but to remind people — especially women — that they are capable of doing more than they think. Skills, education, and courage can slowly transform our lives.
Dreams do not always begin with support, money, or certainty. Sometimes they begin with learning quietly, one step at a time.
