# The Weight of Forgiveness
In the beautiful bonds of family —
Mother, father, brother, sister,
Wife and husband —
We often forgive mistakes,
Choosing love over anger,
Because people change,
People realize,
People grow.
But with a few souls,
Even after apologies,
Even after tears,
Their hearts remain closed.
They hold on to hurt
Like a lifelong grudge,
Forgetting who we once were,
And remembering only our worst moments.
I have seen this
In family,
In friendships,
And in workplaces too.
Sometimes situations made me hurt others,
Not out of pride,
Not out of cruelty,
Yet they never let it go.
They refused to accept me again,
Refused to welcome me back,
As if one mistake
Erased every good thing I ever was.
Life taught me a painful lesson —
Sometimes saying “sorry”
Does not soften every heart.
Some people answer forgiveness
With embarrassment, insults,
And silent punishment.
But this life is short,
And this world is small.
On the last day of our lives,
What will we truly carry with us?
Not anger.
Not ego.
Not grudges.
So why not forgive
When someone genuinely repents?
There is no age limit for bitterness.
Some are young,
Some are old, even in their seventies,
Yet still hold hatred tightly.
What wisdom comes with age
If it only hurts hearts
That are younger and softer?
Please —
Make your heart beautiful.
Make it kind.
Make it light.
Because none of us know
What tomorrow may bring.
My ex-husband could not forgive me
Even when I returned after divorce.
Some companies too
Never opened their doors again —
Technip, Bechtel, and others.
But I have learned this:
Do not lose your heart
Because people hate you.
Do not lose yourself
Because others reject you.
You will survive.
You will heal.
And somewhere ahead,
Life still holds
Something beautiful for you.

When you go for to ask forgiveness we kill our ego, keep aside self respect and beg people pardon, people feel so great to forgive us, and they don’t and I see your family only can.
