Eyes — The Silent Language

By Jessy Jacob ❤️

Leonardo’s Mona Lisa
is mystic in her charm,
and eye I draw—
left or right—
holds a mystery of its own. 👁️

An eye, when graceful,
showers love like gentle rain.
The same eye,
when filled with jealousy,
can wound deeper than words.

Eyes that are happy
sparkle like fireworks in the night.
A woman in a family
must always be cherished with happiness,
for when she smiles,
the whole home blooms with joy.
But when she is made to cry,
the sorrow silently enters every heart.

Without eyes,
life becomes difficult for every living being.
They are the precious windows
through which the world is known.

Beauty lies
in the eyes of the beholder.
Eyes perceive
what lips never speak.
Emotions are revealed more truthfully
through eyes than through words.

Eyes hide countless secrets.
And when you look deeply into them,
you discover worlds unseen—
deep feelings, silent pain,
untold love,
and hidden truths.

Eyes themselves are beautiful in shape.
Even on dark skin,
eyes become the shining light
that highlights true beauty.

Smile gracefully when you look at others,
and your face becomes radiant.
Graceful eyes smile more beautifully
than spoken language ever can.

Some eyes turn red in anger,
revealing pain burning within.
Some fill with tears,
melting hearts
and calling others to comfort them.

Eyes adorned with kajal
carry a beauty beyond makeup.
Kajal cools and protects the eyes;
for babies too,
a small mark and in eyes are applied
to guard them from evil.

Muslims apply surma
as part of the beautiful Sunnah
of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ,
honoring both tradition and care.

Chinese eyes may appear small,
yet they perfectly complement
their delicate features and skin,
creating a beauty uniquely their own.

I love eyes.
I can perceive deep emotions within them—
things only a true beholder can understand.
In my husband’s eyes,
I quickly recognize
whether his thoughts are peaceful or troubled.

My son has large and beautiful eyes.
Every year,
I treasure the emotions I catch within them—
especially the moments
when he silently misses me.

For eyes
are not merely organs of sight.
They are mirrors of the soul,
keepers of secrets,
and the purest language of the heart.
