**Remember**

What will happen, will happen.

Let the night pass through.

Let the seasons change,

And let the vampire try to haunt you.

Remember—you are not surrendering to fear.

You are not letting dark thoughts enter your mind.

Everyone is fighting their own battles;

Even vampires are chasing what they think they need.

They see your light and wish it were theirs.

Remember what Mom once said,

And how she missed you in her final days.

Remember Dad’s last conversation,

The words he left behind for you.

Remember your sister’s fears,

And how she walked through difficult times.

You must be strong for her now,

So she no longer worries about you.

No matter how much pain may hurt us,

We will bear it,

But we will not let the night defeat us.

No matter how many vampires come,

This night will pass.

The shadows will fade,

And the vampires will run away.

But you must not give up.

If we grow wiser,

The world may grow wiser too.

Still, we must stay close to our family.

We must protect the ones we love.

Let the night come knocking at your door,

But never open it.

The darkness can cry, beg, and call your name,

Yet never open the door.

For I am here with you.

I am beside you every second.

A vampire may feed on anyone,

But for me, you are the only one.

And for your family,

You are the only one.

So remember—

Remember Mom.

Remember Dad.

Remember Sister.

Remember me.

Remember love.

Remember strength.

Remember who you are.

And when the night feels endless,

Hold on.

The dawn is already on its way.
