Never Forget Your Roots
By Jessy Jacob
Never forget the roots from where you came.
No matter how high life lifts you,
you must always remember
what shaped you into the person you are today.
Remember the struggles that tested you,
the fears you fought silently,
the failures that humbled you,
and the hardships that slowly sculpted your character.
Those difficult days were not punishments;
they were lessons that prepared you for growth.
When success finally arrives,
it is easy to believe that nothing can stop you anymore.
But that is where overconfidence begins.
The moment a person forgets their roots,
they begin to lose the very foundation
that once gave them strength.
Never be ashamed of where you started.
The roots of your life are not signs of weakness —
they are proof of endurance.
They remind you of the nights you stayed awake,
the dark circles beneath your eyes after months of effort,
the fear you overcame,
the sacrifices you made,
and the patience that carried you forward.
A tree stands tall not because of its branches alone,
but because its roots remain deep and firm within the earth.
In the same way, human beings rise in life
only when they remain connected to the values, struggles,
and people who helped them grow.
Do not fear falling in life.
Every person faces moments of failure and uncertainty.
But if you stay humble and remember your roots,
those same roots will help you stand again when life shakes you.
Remember your parents and the sacrifices they made.
Remember the journey that brought you here.
Remember the time, effort, pain, and discipline
that slowly lifted you upward.
Your roots are the reason you were able to rise above the ground
and grow into the strong tree you are becoming today.
