Two hearts in the snow - a Michael A and Gus coop - from a ‘Same Lyrics’ challenge

Good day to all of you!In 2018, when ‘songwriters in the Kitchen’ was still proudly up and running, there was a ‘Same Lyrics’ challenge going on for Christmas. I vowed not to do challenges and I vowed not to...

    • The song is really beautiful, warm and joyous… as I was reading I could feel the melody and beat of it, I love the repeation and alternation between “I” and “you”, it’s like making vows between each other, a truly romantic and lovely love poem.

      • Chère L.,
Since I’m a quarter French, a typical French start.
        Hope this finds you well.

Thank you anyway very very much for the compliments.
I’ll pass half of them to Michael A who wrote the lyrics.

À same lyrics challenge, means that everyone who wants to be involved, writes a song to the same lyrics.
I believe that roughly 15 persons participated. But I’m not sure. It’s 7 years ago?!

Grateful for your read and listen!
        Warm regards, Gus

    • Chère C.,
Now nice to see you again.
I must have done something wrong, since the reply I typed was lost. Sorry for that.

Anyway, I am grateful for your listen. Also on behalf of Michael A of course.

      See you around!
      Warm regards, Gus

    Gemmed Poetry

Beneath this jeweled infinity, these gems breathe eons—a vast, star-stitched tapestryunfurls its radiance in poetry. A river of fire scorches the dark, amber veins do dream,as if creation yells from whispersin its earliest confessional vow. Violet mist rises in astonishment, curls through forgotten thoughtstrying...

    • Powerfully penned, Nick. It’s not crying wolf my friend. Creativity is cycles and a huge fucking circle that spins like a merry go round brother. When I was a younger version of me I thought about quitting everyday. It doesn’t happen everyday anymore, but the thought will linger from time to time. Sometimes we all have to take a break and find the next path that hasn’t been traveled yet. I call it being stuck between chapters, actually I just made that up. lol. And right on cue the writer in my head is always there. All I’m basically saying is don’t be so hard on yourself my friend. It happens to us all, it’s the one experience we’ve all shared in our creative journey. I think you’re an incredible writer who just needs to reset. Stop thinking about writing completely for a little bit, believe me the itch always returns. Hang in there Nick. Best wishes brother, I’ll see you further down the road. Appreciate you.

      Damian

    • Our good friend, Damian, is absolutely correct. Be gentle with yourself, let it all go for a while and fill up your reserves. Everything, especially creativity, goes through periods of ebb and flow. Perhaps like a great and deadly thunderstorm your next poetic wallop of a write just needs time to build.

Keep the ink wet, my friend!
      Clay

    • I can say with certainty, you made yourself felt in your words. Your love, your passion, your compassion. It’s all there in your writing. I’ve felt your good spirit in it all. I’ve shut down a time or two, thinking it was done. If hitting pause is needed, we’re all still here to greet you with hugs if you return. And if you don’t, you made a lasting impact, my friend. Take a beat, take a breath and follow your star
