This entry is part 6 of 17 in the series DeadLove Lyrics

all these dreams seem faded

drowning in the silent sea

the stars are all silver jaded

loneliness will never set you free

passion burns beneath my heart

i’m bringing down the fucking walls

withered thoughts are torn apart

inside my mind the voice calls

loaded weapon this silenced gun

life is fading like a setting sun

load your weapon silence your tongue

life is fading like a setting sun

rules are meant to be broken

that’s the price of freedom

there’s no fire yet it’s smokin’

that’s the price of freedom

freedom….

freedom….

all these distant eyes stare

blaming me for their own sins

i’m sitting in the electric chair

they applaud with evil grins

i’m just another test subject

a sacrificial lamb to be slain

another part of deaths project

stripped of life because they’re insane

loaded weapon this silenced gun

life is fading like a setting sun

load your weapon silence your tongue

life is fading like a setting sun

rules are meant to be broken

that’s the price of freedom

there’s no fire yet it’s smokin’

that’s the price of freedom

freedom….

freedom….

that’s the price

that’s the price

freedom….

that’s the price

that’s the price

freedom….

    1. Clusterfuck?! WHAT?!
Good thing I didn’t know Joey G back then, his face woulda met my boot.
Wow. That just flew outta my fingers…

    2. Reminds me of a poem I wrote around the whole invasion of iraq. The poem is lost to me, but I remember some of the lines were.

“you can go ahead and die for your country
I value my life over everything
      and if I’m gonna die
it’s not gonna be me wasted away
for a bunch of fucking creeps”

This poem has fire and I love that.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Nick. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Nice. What you remember of it. I had a lot more fire during this era of my life, I still have fire but I use it differently. At least that’s how it feels anyhow. Appreciate you.

    3. I’m gonna say I would love to throw a shoe at Joey G. If Adira doesn’t get him with her boot first. Ironically, I know a lot of musicians. All young & vibrant…& all in Nebraska. It would be amazing to see your words given the credit & voice they deserve. My partner wanted me to do songwriting for musicians but I shut it down because I “only write poetry.” 🤦‍♀️ I would write with you any day though. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed that your words are properly heard, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the lyrics my friends. Joey G, has that effect on people. I’ll keep your offer in mind my friend, I’m thinking about trying to use GarageBand to arrange the music, and I’m gonna sing the songs myself. But down the road anything’s possible. I’m curious to see what I can come up with now, that I’m sober. Always open to collaborating. Appreciate you.
