Summary:
Circa 2012. This was lyrics I penned for a songwriting session, but they didn't get any music. I sang them to a riff though, it wasn't a match though. Appreciate you. - Damian DeadLove
This entry is part 5 of 17 in the series DeadLove Lyrics

transparent times of mediocrity

hate rolls down the assembly line

violence rules the city

destined for a life of crime

lost in the back beat

viewed from behind closed doors

karma is my personal retreat

in a nation infested with whores

destiny overwhelmed by truth

like soldiers on the frontline

want it clearer we’re the proof

of a species in decline

souls on the black market

seems everyone’s got a price

just another moving target

to the piper we’re the mice

meltdown

everything spilling out

showdown

help me count the dead

baptized in dirt

scattered across the earth

baptized in dirt

on this rock we find our worth

hollow disregard for love

pillars constructed in blood

when push comes to shove

we’re just fragments in mud

time and time again

repeating all our past mistakes

devoured and consumed by sin

until the levee breaks

meltdown

everything spilling out

showdown

help me count the dead

baptized in dirt

scattered across the earth

baptized in dirt

on this rock we find our worth

revelations and suspicion

sheep being lead to slaughter

deny a mother’s intuition

without her love all will falter

a pivotal warning

part of the discussion

citizens left learning

a hurtful repercussion

meltdown

everything spilling out

showdown

help me count the dead

baptized in dirt

scattered across the earth

baptized in dirt

and on this rock we find our worth

    1. ” karma is my personal retreat ”

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Naaj. So glad you connected with the lyrics my friend. That was a pretty good line, there are some good writes hidden in the archives. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the lyrics my friend. It happened a lot with, Joey G, that’s probably not shocking to anyone who knows our history. lol. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Brenda. So glad you connected with the lyrics my friend. I’m thinking about using my GarageBand app to maybe put some music to some songs. Maybe this should be a frontrunner for music. Thank you for your support. Appreciate you.

    2. Honestly, I would buy an album of songs with lyrics only written by you. Im not even going to try & pin a favorite line. This one is full of them. 2012? Are you sure you’re not a prophet? Im gonna start tracking what you’re saying, I swear, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I am thinking when school starts back up of possibly arranging some musical ideas, using the GarageBand software. We’ll see how it goes. lol. I miss being in the studio, and using the producer side of my brain. I learned a lot working on “Heartstrings” it consumed 3 1/2 years of my life. I have no crystal ball, nor do I have any superpowers that I’m aware of, unless being a Pisces is a prophetic sign of sorts. lol. By all means keep track, maybe you’ll discover my secret, though I truly don’t know that I have one. But I’m always accepting help in figuring out why I do what I do. Appreciate you.
