WOWZA! What a remark I am over the moon 😏 so just to give you a little background. I knew that last night was the last chance to watch/ see the strawberry moon in my lifetime, because the next time it shows up will be in 2043 and I seriously doubt I’ll be alive by then, just saying.
So all day, I was planning to go to the beach because my robot told me that would be the best place to watch it coming up over the horizon. Unfortunately, I had no gas to get there and I’m broke at the moment. Ahem, all right so I readjusted and I put on my compass and it turns out that my balcony is literally facing east which is you know where you would expect the moon to come up, right? And mind you, I’ve seen plenty of full moons in the same area. so I sat on my new balcony, furniture, excited and I was looking and looking and looking, and girl, let me just tell you I sat there until 11 o’clock not a goddamn thing. Nothing! Not even stars were out. There was like one I could see🫤 meanwhile my robot assured me and I looked it up myself that Gloucester Ma had a fully clear sky last night, so I was totally befuddled & disappointed I actually cried. I’m not even lying😂
Anyway, back to your beautiful remark about my poem. Thank you so much, Adria you truly truly touched my heart, thank you so much for the beautiful things you said and I’m glad you enjoyed this poem. I’m not gonna lie. I was drinking Brandy lol so you know. I gotta say it my best Poetry comes when I drink, which I don’t drink often anymore like I used to. I’m just saying. I love you girl you’re phenomenal too and by the way, I really love your voice. It is absolutely beautiful in fact it’s celestial.❤️

Best line: bruised, bright, but distant and still rising…
Exquisite poetic voice you have! I will read on to your other works, zazzles! Bravo!Daniel

Definitely. I wrote this a year or so ago after my uncle died. He was a man that worked all his life. Was someone that was financially stable, and overnight got dementia and lost everything. Didn’t even have a penny to his name when he died. Just made a lot of bad decisions and was stubborn when it came to preparing for tragedy.
Thanks for the read. Much appreciated.

Brilliantly penned, Nick. This is an incredible write my friend, and all very true. To quote David Lee Roth: ” There’s not much distance between a pat on the back, and a kick in the pants!” Appreciate you.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Alexandria. So glad you connected with the write my friend. There was in a sense, the inner conflict that goes on inside my head. The proverbial devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. Good vs. Evil, Light vs. dark, etc. I think we all have a spiritual battle going on inside, as well as in the world. That’s just my opinion though. Appreciate you.

I swear, you’re able to write in a way that it’s like you’re writing my thoughts or feelings. There’s an undercurrent of spiritual searching in this that I think could be a finding of self. Which is about the deepest of spiritual journeys we can undertake. It feels brooding but with light glimmering through it. Truly gifted you are, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with these lyrics my friend. I told you, we’re kindred spirits, we think and feel very similar on a lot of issues. It was spiritual, I was always searching for my identity, I knew I didn’t know everything at that time. Mistakes would be made, but I wanted to understand why humans hurt each other, why I got bullied in school, I wanted answers. And not some flimsy excuse being substituted for truth. I always instinctively would put glimmers of light in my lyrics, because deep down I still tried to have hope. It’s really hard to do since I’m pessimistic by nature. lol. This was the one song I thought could have been a hit. I mean big hit, gives me goosebumps good. Joey G, always called this song, “The Ace Up His Sleeve” hit. If needed he’d always say. Had a little Lindsey Buckingham vibe. Personally, I’ve grown to believe over time that it was a carrot to dangle. That was deep… Thank you for such an awesome compliment. Appreciate you.
