This took me so many places. From countless hours watching MTV to meeting, speaking with & shaking hands with the reporter from South Africa who was friends with Stephen Biko…the movie Cry Freedom. I had forgotten that White Lion did a song about apartheid with a similar title to the movie. Some truly incredible talent blossomed & hit the scene in the 80s. I’m so glad you’re highlighting them, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the story my friend. It’s a great song, actually. I vaguely remember that movie, Stephen Biko? Oh yes, Peter Gabriel, had a song called: Biko. You can see the issues of the time, writers make that happen. Yes, the 80’s get a bad rap sometimes, when it was actually a really creative era. Your welcome.. Appreciate you.

A great collaboration between the both of you. The wording brings attention to every detail like it was under a microscope. Two great writers together….great stuff. 🙂

This flows smoothly, sweetly and flawless, the reader won’t feel it’s a collaboration at all, I like how it’s like small promises come together to bond as a one loving poem, the title is wonderful too, a wonderful collaboration for sure. Thank You both.

Greetings, Lovely Light💕
Thank you for the sweet gifts of your delightfully encouraging comments on this rather romantic Free Verse piece.
Actually, I wrote none of it, but did edit it for Fia into the format your see presented above. It was my pleasure to help her.
Blessings to thee, Dear Ghounwah ⁓ Richard🍂-
Ooh! sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought it’s a complete co-write, anyway it’s a wonderful poem in words and format😊

hello dearest Damian in my pursuit for answers I have sometimes bitten off more than I could chew and got answers that were more than I could bear…this is very deep my friend only those of us who have faced this with our questions will get it great write

I think that is a sign of a good poem when you can read your work and get a different thought from it. Nicely done.
-
I hate sitting and thinking too much. Because then I start over thinking and that just is never good haha. Wonderful poem. It does gives you a different view with each read.

Am I the only one who asks questions & finds the answers only inspiring more questions? Old from my archives:
there’s a road I often travel
between here…
and not quite there
when I’m looking for an answer
some direction…
to take me anywhere
a million thoughts
a thousand dreams
all drifting on the wind
if I try to follow even one…
it circles back again
to this road I often travel…Doesn’t stop us asking questions though, does it, my friend?

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. First off, excellent write my friend. I think it happens to all of us, it just shows a lot of us are searching for the same answers. That should bring us a feeling of hope, that we’re never truly alone. It’s the little things we all have in common, that brings me hope. Sorry for the tangent. Appreciate you.

Keep the roots. Too many get lost in the accolades & forget where they came from. And that’s how they lose the spark & become sell outs…the roots made you, carry you & they can break you if you forget. True to yourself, my friend, you’re always on point

Outstanding piece Damian. Not a favorite band of mine, but your passion and detail to this band is quite impressive. Well said!
