“before my daily rebirth” I dug that line because the rest we get (sometimes) refreshes us, although for some more than others, it’s likely the last time. It reminds me that I have to be thankful for every day I get and try to make the best of it.

I turned 78 today, so I hear you loud and clear. Each night, one wonders if dawn, or something else, or nothing at all will come. We get one of them, but not our choice.

Mary Magdalene has always felt to me like Jesus, most loyal follower. Even if she wasn’t at the Last Supper, I can imagine her being the one who set the table and prepared the meal. She feels like an everywoman – someone who carries the judgment and misunderstanding that so many women have faced, whether for past mistakes, perceived flaws, or simply for not fitting society’s expectations.

I don’t believe she was a prostitute. I think she was a strong, capable woman who may have simply been ahead of her time. People judged her and labeled her unfairly, but Jesus saw her for who she truly was – a good and faithful person. And really, that’s what all of us should strive to be. Great write, j

What an enigmatic poem for an enigmatic figure. Perhaps it shall unravel the collective misunderstanding of the centuries and provide a new light for her.

Oh, it is all so true! In some universe somewhere inside his head, maybe. I think the people in there will deal with him in a very harsh way. Can’t you see the signs? He is slipping away — just not fast enough.

Nicely done, Fia, but it seems to need just a bit of punctuation to help with the flow, I wasn’t sure at first how to read it, stopping after each line, then going, “Oh, I see it now.” Nice work.

Fia, this read like an erotic encounter of a bewitchingly soft yet libidinal ambrosia. There is magic here that takes me into the heart of the poem. I could feel the silken sheets and that last line has to be the most original and brilliant ending “liquid ambrosia”.
