    Cruel Amnesia

Lost moments these gaps in time Surrounded by such strange faces Unable to reason can’t find a rhyme Empty thoughts in random places   Can’t recall when the mask slipped Sometimes minutes feel like years Somehow the scale must of tipped Got this constant ringing in my...

    • Damian, this is strong tonic. I could feel this in my bones as I read. This i the stuff of poetry that feels like strong whiskey on the tongue. Sad but great writing.

    • Older age? I know all too well the fading of a few things within myself!
Yet you haven’t lost your literary touch! You are blessed with talent, that hasn’t ebbed. Thankfully we write down our material, no need to remember them from scratch! LOL.
You still can kick some ass with a pen, Damian. Wield it high!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Mark. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Getting old isn’t without the fear of losing one’s self along the way. I’m just trying to hang in there. You’re much too kind, Dear Sir. But thank you for your continued support brother. Appreciate you.

    • exceptional read! full of concise, vividly profound imagery…
      a sense of melancholic unrest. ~ c

    • As you so often do, you stirred levels here again. I read this from the personal perspective of memories slipping. A sense of self lost in blips of time. I also see this as the world arena and how people have lost their sense humanity, their compassion, their community. Like the whole damn world has global amnesia. And I read it as literal amnesia from losing time in the form of blanks in memory from drink or drugs. Many layers, my friend

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Well you know me, I love when there are multiple meanings and endless possibilities. lol. Sometime’s I think it’s probably little pieces of all those things rolled into one. I follow where my muse leads me. Appreciate you.

    • Beautifully penned, Brenda. Such an amazing write my friend. Appreciate you.

    • Chère C.,
We’ve an allotment garden (edge of Amsterdam – so we’re rich) and use lavender as a separation between patches of veggies. We don’t have to (will never) use chemicals and as a bonus, all the bees in the neighbourhood love us. They set our garden in motion, because they constantly move the lavender flowers with their weight.

      30 meters of lavender? Easily!
You just made me think of all the lavender we’ve chopped, bound and hung in the log cabin. The whole cabin smells lovely.
How lovely that you posted this poem.
      Warm regards, Gus

      • hello dearest Gus it sounds like a dream come true so beautiful I love the garden it’s where I can hear our creator the best watching nature at work and listening to the Earth’s voice thank you graciously for sharing such a lovely scene from your life with me ❤️

    • Perhaps! The best poem that I have read on Stars. I am not very good with comments, but this one grabbed my soul, Lady! This one deserves an award.

      Al

      PS. Keep in touch.

      • Mary and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This was an expression long in the building and much in need of voice.

    • Powerhouse, both of you are amazing women.

    • Really love this, the two of you simply rock Ladies

    • Powerfully penned, Willow & Mary. I love the guitar riff in this, and have got to ask what was that? A cello or violin at the beginning and end with a distorted effect on it. Whoever made that call, that was pretty cool. Nice collaboration you two. Appreciate you, both.

      Damian

      • That was indeed a cello! That was my call. Cello has the same deep gut effect as bass…which is my obsession. Mary digs violin more. But I’m rubbing off on her. 😉 We poured ourselves into this one. Thank you so much, my friend

    • This is one inspirational powerhouse of a collab
      Take a bow, ladies.
      Ya’ll have definitely outdone yourselves

      Much respect

      Naaj

      • Thank you so much, Naaj. This was a labor of love and a reignition for us both. I’ll pass along your words to Mary 😊

    • Great write Sam

Not sure if the universe lies or we just don’t know how to read it properly.
Lust drives us to love and more often than not love drives us to lust. Its the impermanence of both that we don’t acknowledge.

    • Sam, I agree with Peter. Unsure if the universe lies or if we don’t know how to read it properly. But who ever said it would be easy??

Cheers to love, and to lust. May we find it many times in our lifetimes. Hear, hear! Great write xx
