I heard a legend about a deity.
His title,prince of broken hearts.
He aims and shoots little darts.

And breaks any women’s hearts.
They say,his heart stopped beating long ago.
So he looks for someone to make it beat.

Someone to be more and say those words so sweet.
They told me,he doesn’t save people.
People save themselves from him.

He represents unrequited love.
And his life is hard, his coat in black.
When he kisses any woman he sees, she collapses dead.

He’s often seen eating apples, and you wonder if he’s fed.
His name is Jacks,a name so ordinary.
That causes a lot of fear.

People say,run away, for he will never shed a tear.
I’ll make one thing clear.
Maybe he is not what it seems.

When his smile finally beams.
When somebody sees him,they scream.
The prince of broken hearts is what he’s been.

But alas,it makes me wonder.
Underneath all that,is he a deity?
Or does he just wander?

Maybe he was once a normal human.
Who used to protect his loved ones.
And maybe he pretend.

Usually he is not one to defend.
They say,protect yourselves from him.
Or else your chances are slim.

The legend says,he doesn’t protect people.
They protect themselves from him.
If you talk back to him, your chances are very thin.

But underneath all of that.
Maybe he is thankful and glad.
The prince of broken hearts never runs away.

He runs errands, doesn’t just waste all day.
Whenever children laugh and play.
He makes deals all the way.

But it’s very risky.
Dangerous perhaps.
He hides his identity behind a mask.

He can always find a loophole.
In the contract or deal.
You don’t see the catch.

He doesn’t care how you feel.
He just eats the apples,he doesn’t peel.
If you see him,try to stay still.

He catches ,he doesn’t reel.
Is he a predator or prey?
Does he fullfill deals all the way?

But maybe deep down,he wants to stay.
The prince of broken hearts doesn’t play.
