Once Upon A Broken Heart

They tell the tale of a broken heart.
A maiden loved someone.
They broke apart.

They say,her story is not mundane.
And everyone knows her name.
Her name was Evangeline.

A name as simple as can be.
Tricked into a deal,that won’t leave her be.
The saviour we wanted whole.

Her heartbreak,her big fall.
Will her broken heart mend?
Will she depend on the prince of broken hearts?

Will she fix things before the danger starts?
A story I recently began to read.
it’s so complex,so detailed.

And I felt no greed.
Will her broken heart ever mend?
Fix the past,make amends?

I know what it feels like to have a broken heart.
Surely we all do.
And sometimes,we break apart.

The prince of broken hearts came and said.
Come to me,i’ll help you,dear maid.
Come on now,don’t be afraid.

There is so much to be said.
Will you be the seventh maid in a row?
Her tears fall,she begin to glow.

A journey of a broken heart.
Went to the prince of broken hearts when things got hard.
And so he offers to mend her broken heart.

They made a deal.
Three kisses and then a healthy heart.
But not with him,otherwise she would die and depart.

He wore a mischevious smile.
And sometimes a top hat.
How will her journey end?

Will she be able to protect and defend?
He offered a deal offered in sand.
He said,come with me.

You’ll be the seventh broken soul.
Shake my hand and you won’t feel foul.
I haven’t gotten to the end yet.

But I am filled with hope.
As the story and characters develop.
And the truth soon drop.

He probably used her for his own.
He sat on his cursed throne.
Eating a white apple all his own.

Is he truly a villain or just misunderstood?
I watched where Evangeline stood.
Tears prickling in her eyes.

Her heart still broken.
But one day,she’ll reach the skies and find a man.
He will heal her and defend.

To have a broken heart,I know what it meant.
