Summary:
(creative writing. Not current events)

Looking in, looking out
tell me, what love’s about

Counting all the stars, missing one
where is it, where’s it gone

And you know I miss you
it’s all I do, think of you
remembering your touch, gentle wind
coming and going, looking in

Looking out, towards the sky
this night whispers goodbye

Someone to hold me
once maybe more
someone to tell me
it’s my world

Your breath against my skin, let me in
your rising breasts, against my chest
Only a dream, my heart tells lies
I lay alone, under Orion skies

The air has a chill, cool, cool skin
remembering, thinking, let me in

Someday, our fires will blow cold
and all of our heat, now just old
Still not to know what love’s about
still at the window, looking out

Pretend it’s not, a knock
from a branch and the wind
Come, come on in
Opens the door
to no one, again.

    1. There’s nothing worse than experiencing the heartache that comes with the distance from someone you love so much. I’m sure she’ll find a way to get back again soon. You’re too good of a guy. She’s probably writing a poem about the same thing from her viewpoint. 🙂

If this doesn’t relate to you and adel, disregard.

      • Hello Tim!
This is not current event material. I’m mixing up my subject matter here and there, so as not to be too typical, yaknow?
Sometimes I read something and it inspires me to write my own thing from it. I get motivated by reading!

    2. Powerfully penned, Mark. Another excellent write with words full longing my friend. Distance makes the heart grow fonder or so the old saying goes. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks Damian. Me and Del are good! I just like to take my writing in different directions, like most of us do. I’m always learning and adapting, I hope.

    3. Aww. This one is sad but cool. I love when you do rhymers.
It does sound like a song. It has melodies all through it.
Oh to be in your head when you write, it’s a beautiful thing regardless of topic.

      Love you sweetheart.

      • But you are in my head when I write. When are you NOT in my head? LOL. I was going back and forth on this one, as far as how lyrical to make it. I forget what song I was listening to, that got me going on it. But eh, I’m leaving it as is for a bit. You know me!
And you know that I love you too babydoll. Smooch!
