My Favorite Dessert

They ask me,what’s my favorite dessert?
Is it cheesecake with blueberries?
Or is it lemon tart or cake?

Is it a pile of sugar that decides my fate?
My personal preference,but I love tiramisu.
The oh so creamy layers.

And the coffee and rum within.
It gives it extra flavour.
Even if you feel thin.

Sometimes I wonder,if I were a dessert,what would I be?
Would I be a chocolate cake?
Or a strawberry shortcake as sweet as can be?

And so I put icing on top.
Eat the sugar till I drop.
So don’t eat too much.

Too much of anything is bad.
In the past,for comfort.
Food is all I had.

Would I be a tasty tiramisu in another world?
Or would I be greasy french fries?
Would I be a delicious cake?

Or maybe a lemon tart?
But at the end of the day I know my favorite.
Tiramisu cake.

Or maybe tiramisu icecream.
Both are really good to me.
But we all have preferences,don’t we?

Some like chocolate cake.
Others like a bread they bake.
Croissants and cheesecake,all homemade.

All of us have different tastes.
And some of us combine it with chocolate paste.
Imagine a cake with oh so many layers.

Surely it erases a frown.
It brings us comfort as the food gets down.
Sometimes it feels like food is the only one that understands.

It offers flavours and holds your hands.
But it’s not a permanent solution.
I’ve been there once.

But eventually I took the chance.
And horses prance.
Nowadays we have so many options for dessert.

Whether healthy or unhealthy.
Fruit parfait.
Or myabe chocolate icecream.

So many options around the world.
We eat them and spread the word.
So that your mind doesn’t hurt.

Each one of us eats them on a different day.
Like a regular day or birthday.
Unwrap and see.

The flavours it reveals to me.
In this new world,I will be free.
