    Remembering To Forget

As I remember, I learn to forget the buoyant memories that linger. When I am foundering, I resurface, only to drown in the world’s stigma.    As masking as the calm, glassy sheet segregating this pond of thought is, this curtain between dreams and the world has...

    • Okay, Fia 👌 Thanks for your submission and participation. You’ve made a very good start, with the basic format of a Sonnet down pat … 3 Quatrains and a Rhyming Couplet, and your rhyme-scheme is spot-on. In particular, your topic is interesting, with emotion depth, strong metaphorical imagery, and captivating ambiance that sets the mood. With a b…Read More

      Damian

      • Damien, amigo! Thank you!
This was an extra special write because it was such a sad historical event.
The remnants are still here for everyone to view. Not sure how I feel about that.
Having other peoples pain on display. Just feels like such an intrusion.

But you know what is pretty cool to display, your rocking avatar’s hair!! Hahaha
Had to lighten up this comment, I meant no offense:)

    • The poetry & artwork gel so wonderfully here. Marvelously written Adelphina.

      • Hey there! Poetry and artwork is my new jam!
Now it’s all I think about. lol
What would be something cool to make to accompany my poem!
I brainstorm to get ideas then get started.
Takes longer but I don’t mind.

        Thanks for stopping by
        I’m super happy you enjoyed!

    • I’ve seen the frozen bodies of Pompeii. he families that died together in their homes. I’m sure they would have been happy to have wings to fly away on. Great poem of butterflies and great art work, Adel. 🙂

      • Hey Tim!

Hey, I’m Adelly to you mister! Where did she go? Hahah
With all the suffering that happened I wanted to make this poem bittersweet.
And I kept having these visions of moths flying around. Some are huge, as big as your hand!
Off my mind went and this is what I came up with. After I finished drawing my first moth, I felt like a proud mama! lol
        I’m glad you enjoyed!

        Thanks for stopping by!

      • Hi Nev,
Thank you for that. Means a lot amigo. I can’t even imagine how it must have felt like, being there in person.
The fact that their remains are still in tact and have not broken down is astounding to me.

        Thank you for stopping by!

    • You a more than welcome .. my pleasure entirely .. 😎

    • This is pure art in motion. I could just lose myself in the beauty of your poem. I was mesmerized by the impressionist wonder within your poem. A real gem to read tonight.

    • hello dearest Benny my pain is just too great to live any other way I’ve really honestly tried more than once and I will never willingly put myself through that again… this is powerful if you have a better way to cope I am happy for you my friend ❤️

      • The root cause of all suffering is thinking. That’s where the answer lies.
I coped by reading as much as I could about depression, grief, the way our minds work and trick is.The best material, without sounding religious, was in Buddhism.
Happy to share some authors with you if you’re interested.

    Mirrors Within

Mirrors mirroring not what mirrors mirror.   Drinking this mirage, emulating my form.   Echoes of reflecting thoughts exuding an air of sorrow.   The presences within the glass, weeps deeply at its glassy heart.   A blind man I am, staring into this mirror.   Blinded in darkness, yet sighting the pain.   These curtained eyes, sightful...
