• What Isn’t Heard

    there’s a vastness…
    you can’t even fathom…
    a universe you can’t imagine…
    within the realm of silence

    stories untold
    realities unexpected
    contemplative reflection
    pain unspoken

    everything locked inside a vacuum
    where the wall of it…
    can hold someone hostage
a victim of their own thoughts

    you can’t…Read More

    • Yes, I can hear that silence. It’s the silence of a mother whose son has been cut down in a gang war or a war in a foreign country. Or the anguish of needing formula for our kids but no money to buy it. It’s the search for decent work, but not enough education to get it. • Still Strolling…

    it can’t be far away…
    can it?
    that elusive brighter tomorrow?
    I’m not asking much…
    just a warm spring day
    maybe a chance of sprinkles
and a walk amongst nature’s glory
the cloying scent of honeysuckle gagging the senses
    lilacs swaying in the breeze
    birds in full choral exuberance
    vibrantly budding trees
    and a…Read More
