Carried Away
neglected winds howled their fury
blowing through a door ajar…
startled…
she dropped to cower…
piercing chill burning
skating across thundering veinssudden silence filled empty pockets
scoured sterile by the pain
tomorrow has no meaning
the past has gone awayfrozen fists slowly opened
letting go…
of every hope…
relinquishing the hold…
no longer keeping control in constant towfree floating in a tsunami
course uncharted and unknown
a minnow in an ocean…
such a tiny being…
lost in a madly hungry worlddropping deep…
beneath the current
seeking shelter from the storm
within abysmal stillness…
she found unexpected strength…
to finally make her way…home
