First this can be both a poem and a song, it has the beat of a song. Second, You said in your note that instead of thinking wiser You rolled with it, but truth to be said your poem from first line to the final is all wisdom. For me this is a monologue with the inner self to make sense of what is not sense, To be aware of everything that happened and what is needed to be changed, the “had enough” and welling to breaking the patten of the same repeation is felt in the final verse, your poems always has a personal feeling and that make them special.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Light. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I think it works either way myself. I must say I always enjoy your commentary and opinions, you’re pretty much on point with where I was going with this one. There are always pieces of me in my writes my friend. Appreciate you.

Oh damn, that last verse hit hard. After each of the other verses, it became a hammer of defiance. I’m not sure I believe in a norm. It always just strikes me as others expecting you to be more like them. Meet them at their level because they’re too lazy to move. To evolve. No thank you. This is another strong piece. And I think just rolling with it worked out beautifully, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I don’t know that I believe in the norm either, I agree it’s like living up to the standard of others, funny thing is that they can’t live up to it themselves. But hypocrites love to snipe at others. So glad I rolled with it as well. Appreciate you.

Damian when the illusions melt away and the masks are gone there is a great since of liberation as well as sadness. Not fitting in can make one feel alone but at the same time emancipated from a lifetime of being a square peg in a round hole. Truly great poetry here, my friend. You have given me the reader a glimpse into a life that is honest to oneself. I am most enriched to have read this.

The beat, rhythm and pace is like a racing car! The reader wouldn’t know are You talking about a woman or a car lol. The closing lines are brilliant, and “unique styles” it is. Wonderful poem, to read it in the morning it fuels us with good energy to start the engine ✨

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Light. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That was the vibe I was going for I love when a write has more than one perspective or dual meanings. Thanks for that wonderful commentary. Appreciate you.

Corvette! Corvette! I’m a ‘Vette girl. But that’s mostly because daddy was a Chevy guy and Ford was a dirty word around him. Once wrote a poem about a Mustang once though. Much enjoyed this one, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I like cars in general, but I’m kinda a Ford guy though. Though I like Chevy’s too. Dodge is my least favorite. It was a dirty word around my dad when I was growing up. lol. Appreciate you.

This had the rumbling force of a corvette being geared up for a rip roaring ride down the highway. And to me it also read like a sensual poem about the power of the engine getting ready to fly like bat out of hell down the highway of love. Fantastic work my friend.

Now this one I can see a bit of the dark side. There’s a deeply relatable element to this that transcends subject or time. Depending on the point of being, it fits multiple topics. We write from a perspective and when it’s shared, it develops unexpected layers. I would like to have seen it performed during your 15 minutes of fame. It must have had a tremendous draw to it, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the lyrics my friend. I was in a very dark place when I penned this one, I was going through something heavy, and it came out in the words. The one thing I truly love about what we do as writers, is the multiple meanings the reader or listener can take away from our words. We as the writer know what we’re really talking about or going through when we create. The reader doesn’t have those blinders on, they are in fact another point of view, without the writers biases. It is a great little song. It got a response from the crowd. Appreciate you.
