Someone told me that to describe the feelings within shadow was a testament to writing good poetry. I don’t know about that, but I admit, I love this poem, the flow of it, and that you saw and felt it is warmly appreciated. I knew an artist friend who drew scenes in pencil. She had one piece, a landscape, done in black pencil that I swear when you looked at it deeply, you could see blue streaks flow in it. Some of that experience of seeing this piece of art is what I tried to capture in this poem and where that line: “…kaleidoscope of greys” came from.
Mary, thank you, your visits and comments mean a lot to me.

FlatDaddy, it thrills me that you were touched by this poem. You might be surprised to know that unruly moon gets really rambunctious at midnight. Then again, we are the same age, so you probably know all about unruly moons. At any rate I truly welcome your visit and thanks for a great comment (and message).

Katrina, one of the long list of American crimes committed against Black folks. Countless numbers of Black people crammed into the Astrodome, that looked like the slave ships that brought African people here as slaves. The thousands of people who lost EVERYTHING and who were “dispersed” to different parts of the country. Yes it was natural disaster but made worse by man made oppression, like the whites who shot at Black folks on the bridge out of New Orleans, forcing them back into the floods. This country truly is a nation of barbarity and savagery.
Thanks Fia, it is always great when you come and visit my poems.

I love Kurt, I love him not because of his music, because of the man he is, the human he is, the soul he is. and no he didn’t kill himself, I’m one of those who believes it, have to say this. On the other hand I don’t like Dali lol but I surely can see how Nirvana’s music paints Dali’s mind. I’m glad I read this this morning, thank You my friend 💕 might be sending you some older poem after reading this.

WHAT!!??? You don’t like Dali??? LOL. No worries, I’m more of an Impressionist fanboy, than of Surrealism. Having said this, I find a lot of surrealism in Nirvana’s music and also in the life of Kurt Cobain. There is also a lot of irony in their music as well as in that whole period of time, the time of “Grunge” music (the 90’s into the early 2000’s). This was a response to the sappy 80’s music (though I admit there was some good music made then, mostly Madonna and Michael Jackson and of course Prince).
So, you think Cobain was murdered, interesting. At some point, you will have to tell me why you think this. What evidence do you have, etc.
Light, your visit was/is more than welcome, and I am thankful for your comment.

Thank You for accepting me as me and not kicking me out of the door of art lol as I’ve said, I understand how Dali’s work is connected to Nirvana’s music and yes Kurt’s life, Kurt’s mind was unique, and for sure surreal. I don’t know why many dislike the 80th, I love 80th and there was great real music back then, and NO ONE is like The King not even now!✨👑✨
As for Kurt being murdered, I might not have the evidence You want in my hands, but let’s us say it’s an inner voice I had since ever.
Thank You again, glad we can chat about other things through our poetry.

My bad, I should have been clearer. My asking about what evidence, I more meant the why, why do you think (or feel) that Kurt was murdered? For example, I believe that Jimi Hendrix was killed and did not die from a drug overdose.
Anyway, Light, I would never ever kick you out of the art room. NEVER!

Powerful work. I felt this to the core of me.
