And it doesn’t help that all our leaders seem to be making every move to have more and more and more power.
The people’s voices these current days are just “blowin’ in the wind.”
Love the sentiment and the feel of this piece.

Lisa,
I have long thought that war is the main identifier of humankind. The only question is, where is the mine where we can dig for our “humanity?” Where does “human kindness” come from? I mean is it “shame for who we really are” so, we try to justify ourselves? It seems that no matter how good our intentions, the end is always a disaster, and nothing we build can last. So here we are dancing in the desert, just trying to carry on…
Vol
Yes, great line “Dancing in the Desert” and oh so true.
Thank you for reading my poem Vol

As far as I’m concerned – if war is such a successful event – why has there been more than one??? Who set all others going and managed to have weapons ready and waiting? Why have some countries managed to remain neutral and not be drowned in white feathers? Why hasn’t time produced enought wisdom to choose leaders who can discuss what needs discussing sanely, intelligently, unselfishly, with quiet wisdom and HONESTY?
Your words are sane and helpful, honest and sans greed – seems wars are begun by anything and anyone with entirely the opposite attitude. How and why? Does jingoism have a big part in it or what?
