    How it is

we were a Summer green and bright wed to an Autumn dressed in richer lights I was a simple soul, whilst you, my darling -laughing lips in thanks to Heavenly lore, brought your dry homeland to my island shore  and as you  know...

    • Very pretty, romantic words. Thanks, Emma.

      • Thank your for your kind words. My writing varies so I’m delighted when someone carries words to my nest!

    • Don’t look at the past as ‘wasted’. Brought to your island shore and very far more look back at it as beautiful. Bravo!

      • What a generous review.. many, many thanks. Isn’t the word ‘Bravo’ super satifactory!

    • It does sound like a town that has been forgotten. You described it well, so sad.

      • Yes, as sad as it is there was plenty of time to improve things, but…. Thanks Fia.

    • I lived there for 17 years. But had to move, the police moved out and glitches moved in. They set up tents and overtook the place.

      • I don’t know whether to laugh or sigh at your comment. It was such a great place at one time. Let’s hope this site is a new and better beginning for most of us from Cafe Town. 🙂 Thanks J.

    • Powerfully penned, Tim. Incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.

    Frozen Tears

Cool autumn breeze shrouds my shoulders crisp cerulean brings forth  the last of muggy days while flowers set about to wilt   Tree leaves burst a montage of color flutter like birds who cavort   One can reap a slight rush when wind begs for attention and rips the leaves with...

    • This is beautiful. I like the description of the wind begging for attention.
      Welcome to Stars Rite.

    • Autumn is my favourite season – is there there anything that explains that death is an un-permanent? Whatever the long sleep, there’ll be a memory, an emotion, a tear or two, a baby born and happines derived from that wee darling’s first cry. You write with enormous sensitivity to life and also your love of Life and its companions. Many, many thanks for sharing not on fine writing but its meaning.

    • As beautiful and inspiring as autumn is, to witness the leaves in their pendulum dance, has a tendency to get me a little emotional. We learn so much from the trees – in their letting go. Your poetic offering of such an eloquent season brings it all into view, Betty. Thank you for your inspiring words today!
