      Well done.

      • I do like your thought here my friend, Thank You so much for taking the time to read and leave your kind words and input, most appropriated🌸

        • I like to see inspiring poetry/prose, moreso than what seems typical for too many, We need more joy in this world. So yes, you brought some to here.

    • Beautifully penned, Light. Excellent write my friend. Always dig the positive vibes in your work. Appreciate you.

    • Tim….there isn’t much anyone can do to get democracy back to its original intention.Still, if we don’t keep writing about it,as you have here, then who will?
The old adage, ‘you get the government you deserve’ seems to playing out across all western democracies but especially so in USA where only money matters.
It’s taken a long time for the dollars and the bastards to get absolute power…they will never surrender it.
I’m still smiling and won’t let them grind me down.
      Cheers mate.

    • Thank you for speaking true and honest words in a world attacking the foundations of democracy more than ever before, Tim¡

      • Hey Elke. Thanks so much for the comment. I keep getting this feeling like Trump is not going to finish his term. We’ll see.

    • Pretty much whatever they say to get elected is bullshit. All are guilty, too. There is no good politician in the higher echelons. I guess they can’t really be anymore. Too much chaos in all parties and at all desks. And yes, money is the controller.
We can hope for improvement all we want. There will never be, again. Just less bad, if we are lucky.

      Well delivered message, Tim.

    • Sharp teeth in a suit, and still the poem doesn’t flinch—love how you chew the rot of politics without losing your voice.
The grit of truth bites, but you carry it kindly, like a warning whispered in a smoky bar.

    • Tim, you wrote the reality of the rot that is infecting America and much of the world with penetrating clarity and articulated poetically the shroud we are enveloped in. Truly a great poem about our dark time.

    Music of the 1970's.

Music of the 1970's.Unlike todays computerized songs (by solo artists) that are written by 7 or more people, the music of the 70's was made by bands and solo artists who played their own instruments and wrote their own...

    • Passionately penned, Tim. Into the book it belongs! Excellent write my friend, you’re a great storyteller brother. I love pieces about music and this one didn’t disappoint. I remember the whole back masking deal, it all came to head during the Judas Priest trial. And then some people wonder what made the band write the “Painkiller” album after that trial. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

      • Thank you, Damian. I always liked hell bent for leather, livin after midnight, Nostradamus and other songs. But yeah, Priest was and is a great band. I do remember that trial. And I do remember Rob Halford having to sing on the stand to prove they didn’t influence kids to commit suicide. I believe Ozzy went through the same dilemma.

    • Totally hear you on this one. Proud GenXer (born in 74) but I was influenced by my uncle who showed me bands like the Beatles and Queen. Yes, there was something special about those bands that to this day still have an influence on everyone. The 27 Club has always been interesting to me, those guys (and gals) have left that last impression, tragic and mysterious and the “what could have been” leaving many questions unanswered. Whenever I pull some of this music in van my kids call it the Geriatric Rock, but it’s one of the greatest eras of music.

    Winter's Bone

winter's bone                                                                           the roads not plowed that winter left an avalanche of snow upon the Minnesota landscape   the northern cardinal and common redpoll took refuge in the Norway spruce, seeking shelter in the thicket of branches from the shrills of winter’s bone.   our bodies hunkered down beneath a...

    • Very nice. It has such a warm glow to it, even though it describes the opposite (initially). Your details are great at creating the atmosphere. Picture perfect scenes.
Good to see you posting here, btw.

    • Hi Mark! I’ve been having trouble with formatting my poetry to single space. I don’t like double spacing. I was told to hold down the shift key while hitting return, but it still double spaces on me. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you most kindly for your visit today and the warmth your compliments bring!

      • When I want single spacing of lines, I hit shift and enter simultaneously. I am also somewhat of a neanderthal, and “enter” may be the same as a return key? I use a tablet primarily for writing, so my laptop skills are not great. Also, when transferring from one to other, or even copy and pasting, the spacing always gets screwed up. I have to redo it manually over again. Modern tech is still glitchy, lol.
But, be stubborn! Always write your words! Formatting can always be corrected later. Our words need a life asap.

    • Beautifully penned, Kelly. This is an excellent write my friend with amazing imagery. Appreciate you.

    • Chère K.,
I hate winters, specially when, as in most Dutch winters, the sky is grey and it’s raining.
But your poem resonanties with me. Maybe this is what winters should be!
      Love it to bits!
      Warm regards, Gus

    • Winter has been a hard season this year for most of the states in the U.S.. Artic cold, snow and ice have made it more like living in Alaska. Spring couldn’t arrive sooner for the smallest of creatures having to bear single digit temperatures at night. Thank you for your visit, Gus. May the warmth of friendship get us through our winter’s bone!

    • Dear K,

I enjoyed the dichotomy of this piece greatly. The blanket of snow in the pictures felt like the blanket under which you hunkered 🙂
The photos are lovely. And worked so wonderfully with the calm tones in the poem. Terrific write. H🌷

    • Your detailed eye caught my intent! The photo, of whom I forgot to mention, is by Andrew Wyeth. I thought it complimented my poem beautifully. Thank you for your visit and kindness, Honoria. Good to have your presence here!
