    • Breathe

I was a skeptic,a Thomas with doubtfingers rubbing the scars of my own disbelief, thinking breath alone could not unravel my pain. How foolish I,with my sharp, cynical mind, believing only the white pillswould loosen the darkness inside me.I still swallow them,those...

    • Bah humbug.

Bah humbug it's that time of year, fill our fat bellies, guzzle some beer.Over do everything, shop till we drop,Christmas a circus,a giant big top. It's not about family, not anymore,it's more about getting and what you can score. It's stressful and lonely for...

      just do it

Sit still a momentlet the world loosen its grip.No clocks, no names, only the hush between two heartbeats.Close your eyes as one closes a dooragainst the wind, gently, and the breath arriveslike a tide that knows your shore. In, outthe lungs become...

      • I’m not sure, but those who make it to old age tend to come to a calm acceptance. It is the end of the journey, and perhaps for some the battle. Yet, those who do make it that far should see it as a blessing. So many do not get that far.
Life is half attitude, really. Find the good, even if small. It’s there.

      • Powerfully penned, Peter. Excellent write my friend. I concur with Mark, getting older there is a calm acceptance that takes place. For me it was recognizing my mortality, and realizing if I didn’t change my perspective I was going to die miserable or suddenly. Or worse yet, both. I can relate my friend but there is a blessing in figuring out that changing the lens helps a lot. We all go through this you’re definitely not alone. Appreciate you.

do others feel like I do

My biggest fear is not that I will die but that I will lose control, lose myself. That my carefully crafted persona might simply collapse in on itself. That others will witness that collapse. That is the excruciating fear that depression brings. It never...
