Hi Peter

How are you?
You expressed so much in few lines.

Jessy Jacob

It’s the ones who insist they’re fine when clearly they’re not that scare me. We humas are very fragile indeed

Well you’re right! And sometimes we think we know them, until we realize that we don’t. The mind is each of our own little universe, it’s so vast. Some people get off track along the way.

Powerfully penned, Peter. Another excellent write with lots of layers my friend. No one is immune to time and the effects it has on the mind. Thanks for sharing. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

Damian

Wow this is a different format. I enjoyed this.

Thanks Fia.
Glad you enjoyed it and that it perhaps made you smile for a while.

Painfully sweet and the hopeful part had me smiling. Excellant

Thanks Damien and Fia for reading and commenting……I do love tomatoes and I’m sure you do also.🍎

There’s a damn clean erotic metaphor here, with the unripe tomato carrying desire in its tension—green, clenched, sun-warmed, and waiting for the moment when restraint finally gives way. The ending lands hard because “hard and hopeful” collapses the whole image back into the speaker, turning ripeness into both longing and surrender.
