when kindness is gone,
and what’s only present
is a hymn
and the memory of your beautiful heart.
It was a stormy night,
I still remember,
uneven breaths
a handful of tears on my palms;
“I don’t want to be strong anymore.”
“cary me over with love
pure, unharmed.”
“call me the soul,
and bring me April rain for mercy.”
I am bonded both,
to heaven and earth.
I feel you,
you are still
the morning light over leaves.
the sadness of separation,
and the anticipation of spring.
and I still feel it in you,
the strength of April’s surrender
to flowering and storms,
You are the growth of colours over the sea.
the comfort in ~believe.
From early spring
to late winter,
in the morning chillness
to evening stillness,
comes sudden at times,
a note of gratitude
tender like you,
“’Thank you’ for touching me
making me feel both,
a soul and a human.”
