Okay, so maybe I was wrong.
Finding a job the old fashioned way is harder than I thought. I’ve been making calls and showing up to the places I’ve applied to and am always hit with the same reply, “Thank you so much for your time, we will reach out to schedule an interview should we find you a suitable candidate.” I AM OVER IT. Why did I tear up that business card again? Oh. Right. The mystery man who wanted to hire me was a major asshole over the phone.
I’m walking out of yet another Cafe, this one being in a richer area in Camden. I’m marking “Big Shots Cafe” off of my lists of possible jobs when I am met face to strong chest before I go crashing backwards on my ass. I have got to stop walking with my head down. I am mortified as a hand reaches out to me to help me up. “You know, you’re way too beautiful to be walking with your head down. You need to be more aware of your surroundings. Anyway can just grab you up if they really wanted to.” A deep, yet familiar voice says to me. I lift my head to speak when a wave of shock washes over me.
It’s him, Mr. Green Eyes. I willfully put my hand out for him to take and as our hands touch, electricity jolts throughout my entire body. Part of me wonders if he feels it too. “Yeah, weird habit of mine. Don’t really like too much eye contact.” I say, while staring in his deep, forest green eyes that are willing me to get lost in them. He smirks, and it is one of mischief and of promise as he helps me up. “You seem to make eye contact just fine. He says, and right then I blink and look away.
I scratch behind my head. “Oh, uh— I’m really sorry for bumping into you. I’ll be sure to be more aware in the future.” I say as I turn to leave, ready to run off and hide from this gorgeous man that gives me goosebumps and makes my pussy ache with desire just by looking at him. “Hey, wait a sec.” He says, reaching out for my hand. “Why didn’t you call me?” He asks, and I’m instantly confused. “I’m sorry, call you? I think I would have remembered ever getting your phone number, which I didn’t. I’ve seen you only once and it was with your guard dog. I mean, fiancée.” I say all too sweetly. He chuckles, a low deep chuckle that makes my insides quiver. “Guard dog huh?” He says with a smile and then continues, “I like that. However, piccola monella, I distinctly remember giving your former coworker, by the name of Saraiah my business card for you in the event that you would need a job.” When he says that, I instinctively yank my hand away from him like it’s been burned and all humor leaves his eyes. “What’s the matter?” He says, looking, dare I say— offended?
“That was YOU?” I ask incredulously. “I called that number, and the person that answered was an absolute dick. I won’t tolerate being spoken to with such disdain when you were the one who gave me your card.” I add, pushing a finger into his chest before turning on my heels and walk into the other direction. “Fuck off, Mr. Green Eyes.” I say over my shoulder as I sashay away, giving him the perfect view of my ass that he can absolutely kiss.

Phenomenal writing, P.G. Tremendous storytelling once again my friend. Great chapter. Appreciate you.
