Summary:
These are lyrics I wrote in circa 2001 . The music was created on GarageBand. It's a scratch track, I had no microphone I'm doing this on an iMac in 2009. I wanted to remember the vocal melody. Warning I can't sing. - Damian DeadLove.
This entry is part 7 of 17 in the series DeadLove Lyrics

listen to the wind crying out

trapped in what is wrong

confusion is what life’s about

vicious circle while you go along

i’ve been places you’ll never be

i’ve seen faces you’ll never see

sinking deeper into the abyss

being pulled further down

fighting quicksand what is this

beneath the voids i drown

speak to the voice fading now

lost in what was never

illusion is what makes you bow

wilting dreams pull the lever

i’ve been places you’ll never be

i’ve seen face you’ll never see

sinking deeper into the abyss

being pulled further down

fighting quicksand what is this

beneath the voids i drown

answer the question that escapes you

nestled within your point of view

answer the question that escapes you

for the relevance makes it true

i’ve been places you’ll never be

i’ve seen faces you’ll never see

sinking deeper into the abyss

being pulled further down

fighting quicksand what is this

beneath the voids i drown

    • Thanks for the read and listen. Now my horrible voice will scar the lives of many. I’m glad you loved the lyrics, this was always intended to be a song. Good old GarageBand way back in 2009. Appreciate you, Fia.

  1. I love it!
You know what this means don’t you?

    More. We need more!

Your voice didn’t scar me. I’m a road map anyway, so who would care anyway? Be YOU.

    • Thanks so much for reading and listening, as well as your kind words, Adira. That’s what I was afraid of that people would want more, I’m kidding. lol. I was just trying to remember the melody, I knew my voice isn’t great. But I still now the melody, so it all worked out in the end. Appreciate you.

  2. For some reason, I couldn’t get the audio to play. If I think about what it might sound like, it would resemble a Metallica song. Very good lyrics, Damian.

  3. Love those lyrics, my friend, you were born to be a song writer 🙏🏻
…and it resonates with to me too, almost scarily so…

    • Sorry it didn’t play. I’m looking into it. I couldn’t get it to play on QuickTime when I was messing with it, but it played over here. I’m glad you love the lyrics, I wanted you to hear it to. Appreciate you, Duende.

  4. I couldn’t get the audio to play but I really like the lyrics. As usual, you don’t skate across the surface. You take us deeper than many do. My daughter keeps telling me songs are just poetry with a tune. Not sure where that drops me…I always hear my poetry with a tune. Nicely done, my friend

    • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. Sorry you couldn’t hear it, Fia was able to and so was Adira. It plays for me, this is why I hate technology. lol. Anyways I’ll try to get it resolved, I wanted you to hear it as well. She’s pretty spot on, lyricist obviously make more money than most poets. I also think that’s why poets or writers are involved in music. They more likely to be heard. lol. Appreciate you.
