The sun rose with a sweet scent
My death is calling
You cannot cheat death
Three lines down an arm proves it
The moon runs
As the candy corn colored sky emerges
Escape is not an option
The knives have been sharpened
I am not the first bride
I will not be the last
But I will deny it the pleasure
Of my screams
I removed the cords
I removed the tongue
I will be silent
It will engorge itself on me
The liver
The spleen
Rip out the intestines
Making me his queen
The heart is for last.
I will be made to watch
As the current to my brain
Fires for the final time

Powerful stuff Fia

Amazing writing Fia.
Thank you, Drieks
Nice and dark Fia. I love the candy corn colored sky emerges line.
Death takes its bride one organ at a time. Sounds like horror to me and a good one for the halloween season. 🙂
Thank you, Tim. I had fun doing this one. The candy corn was a nice touch. Did a challenge with Twofiftythree. We had to write gore, and you have to add candy corn
Hauntingly penned, Fia. Look at you writing horror, excellent write my friend. Appreciate you, cuz.
Damian
I am trying. I’m a complete chicken. Love vampires, werewolves etc….
Thank you, Damian;))
Violent imagery & language apropos for an October horror film marathon. I’ve got some catching up to do, fer sure. Thanks for holding it down here at Stars Rite. Much appreciated!
There are a lot of writers getting in the spirit of it.
Thank you, Benjamin
Honest, morbid and great wording. A gorgeous piece, dear Fia!
Thank you so much, Sappho
It builds with a violent intensity.
Very apt for Halloween. But also death is always with us. All year round. You poem is very truthful.

Thank you, Knight 🩷
Your reflections on this conversation with death are the stuff of great poetry. Your poem is deeply felt and strong in imagery that is as poetic as it is strong. Truly a great poem.
