Death is Calling

Bookmark
HomeUncategorizedDeath is Calling

The sun rose with a sweet scent
My death is calling
You cannot cheat death
Three lines down an arm proves it

The moon runs
As the candy corn colored sky emerges
Escape is not an option
The knives have been sharpened

I am not the first bride
I will not be the last
But I will deny it the pleasure
Of my screams

I removed the cords
I removed the tongue
I will be silent

It will engorge itself on me
The liver
The spleen
Rip out the intestines
Making me his queen

The heart is for last.
I will be made to watch
As the current to my brain
Fires for the final time

    1. Nice and dark Fia. I love the candy corn colored sky emerges line.
Death takes its bride one organ at a time. Sounds like horror to me and a good one for the halloween season. 🙂

    2. Your reflections on this conversation with death are the stuff of great poetry. Your poem is deeply felt and strong in imagery that is as poetic as it is strong. Truly a great poem.
