“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing” – Albert Einstein
250…
where do we go from here?
lady liberty’s lamp
of enlightenment less clear
rationalized…
is an irrational capitulation
are “We the People”
becoming of a cricket nation?
unfurl…
visions only a blind man can see
deaf ears unto a trumpet
of deafening narcissistic legacy
graffiti…
that scars by no other name
of such self importance
only a heartless soul could proclaim
focus…
America, heed the advice of the song
restore her righteous torch
a beacon of hope to all that belong

Powerfully penned, Angel. Another excellent write with lots of layers my friend. Styx is a very under appreciated band in my opinion first off. But a very powerful song to be inspired by. You hit the nail on the head as always this is an amazing read. Appreciate you.
Damian
Damien, thanks for your comments as always. When someone puts their own interests above the interests of ”We the People”, that is an untenable situation at some point. What makes it dangerous, is that many of our representatives have lost their way, and no longer comprehend and honor the concepts of collaboration and compromise. Congress has seemingly become a place of loyalty over integrity. The word “graffiti” of course refers to the inappropriate and selfish use of persona relative to historical locations and traditions.
There’s a swell of arrogant loudmouths in this country. And I mean nothing personal toward any particular person making this observation. I’ve found it best to realize that most of it is a largely subconscious programming by modern culture, entertainment and education, so I try my best not to take it too personal as a result. Good form and feeling in this one.
Benjamin, thanks for taking the time to read and respond. I appreciate your thoughts.
