Advertising temptation
A credit possession driven nation
So determined, so obsessed
With having only the best
Swipe away what isn’t yours
To compare and compete
Take out another loan
Beg, borrow, steal
Fancy car, you’re in debt
House on show, not your asset
Immaterial, material
Death by debt
Blinded by greed
Termination damnation
They got everything to lose
It’s all taken by the bank
Drowning in booze
Society fueled by greed
Just know your children watch you
And they will follow your lead
Satisfy with society’s norm
You lie awake at night
Live in shameful scorn
Take out another loan
Beg, borrow, steal
Maxed out. Limit reached.
Declined. Exceeded. Defeated.

hi dearest Keith this is so true my daughter followed in my footsteps of shopping when she feel sad excellent write ❤️
So many use shopping when feeling low. That could become quite tragic and very expensive. Make sure your daughter doesn’t fall into a viscous cycle with her spending. Thanks Brenda!! xox
Powerfully penned, Keith. Excellent write with amazing wordplay my friend. Appreciate you.

Glad you enjoyed Damian.
A wonderful, perfectly written piece of social criticism, dear Keith! Too many people appreciate material wealth only, lacking emotional intelligence, compassion and respect for all living beings. A powerful message! xox
Yes they do. Spending on foolish items can become a real problem. Many buy on impulse and enjoy that quick rush. When reality sets in, they feel miserable and defeated. The cycle starts all over again. Thanks Elke..xo
This hits like a cold slap, unflinching in its portrait of obsession and debt. I love how it mixes social critique with a personal edge—you can feel the shame, the watching eyes, and the inevitability of it all.
Awesome feedback here Thomas. Thank you!
