Homophones and double entendres are the fancy of oral delivery and aural reception. Sometimes linguistically intoxicating.
prosody…
sometimes a deviant perception
what did I really hear?
a double entendre of deception
subliminal…
is his cunning linguistic tongue
a poetic agenda
that mister Al K. Hall has sung
sublime…
is her reception to his oral citation
Virginia, long ago asunder
giving aural feedback stimulation
intoxication…
surrenders a destination of desire
aroused are her moist lips
awaiting his French kiss to inspire
liquor…
a tongue teaser of anticipation
what did I really hear?
he’s drunk on divine liquidation

Brilliantly penned, Angel. Another excellent write that’s full of layers my friend. I’m a huge fan of double entendres myself. Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

Chère A.,
Hope this finds you well?!
I’ve been waiting for you to post another of your lovely writes.
And I must have listened very well. Because I used the word Prosodie (Dutch) in one of my lyrics 5 days ago. So our minds met somewhere in the universe. In Dutch, it’s a very low frequency word. I don’t know about English of course.
Love your poem to bits! Glad you posted it!
Warm regards, Gus
