Paint the world in your own written words.

Read…

  Oh, Fix it please.

This is the new

Born to succeed

Editing it as we speak

Dark Creature of habit..

Words that scream

Front page, it seems

Listen to me

Bold type

Not backing off, right..

Invisible pen

Leaks and leaks

Onto the flat white

Mysterious.. as it can be

A black, an orange, a square piece

All but a note that sticks

To the cold but dreaded

Cover that crime scene…

    With all my blessed ink..

This is my chapter.. on a roll

Nothing will be forgotten

Truly satisfying, call it my written masterpiece

With love from the deepest of oceans

A solid Blue, it’s all for you.

    1. I think Rosie C., this journalist’s pen is filled with blood which leaves dark red blotches across the page, and makes the paper sticky with dread. What I think is even more terrifying is that my weird imagination has you smiling, then laughing, as the last word drops and you place the “X’.

While you use the photo from “Silence of the Lambs” to frame this poem, I was also reminded of the ‘journalist” from “Interview With the Vampire” (Ann Rice’s book, not the Cruise movie). Lestat, now there was a bloodsucker for ya!! LOL ;0)

I hope I didn’t tread too heavily wandering in your poem Rosie, it was a delight to read.

      • Hi Curt,

Thank you for reading this piece. You have a vivid imagination, rather than a weird one. I can see myself smiling, but I often chuckle rather than full on laughter.

The Silence of lambs photo is a symbol of my criminology background coming into play. I had to closely study that film a lot during my university degree.

I’ve never watched the Interview with a Vampire but I have seen certain clips of it online. I prefer a tv series called True Blood, the first season really got me hooked.

Thanks again for your visit on my piece.

    2. There’s a restless ink-stained energy here—like you’re chasing the truth across the page before it slips away.
I like the grit in the process… messy, obsessive, but real enough to leave a mark that won’t wash out.
