Summary:
When they wanna fix your shit but won't take care of their own...

listen

I’m not angry

I know you mean well

but I need to set one thing straight

I don’t need anyone charging in

trying to save my day

swinging a shiny sword

astride a big white horse

not when I’m already taking action

I fight my own battles

mop my own damn floors

like that knight ever on a crusade

you don’t notice my day-to-day

but you think when I get upset

I need someone else to fix things

rain down righteous justice

on someone else’s deserving head

and yet neglect to accept

doing your own regular maintenance

it might have escaped your notice

but I speak my mind most of the time

so nothing much to cause any stress

…until I go silent

I’d be more inclined…

to give you a piece of my mind

if I thought you had a clue

what to do with it

    1. hello beautiful Willow I’m a fixer only because when people vent to me I think they desire an answer to their complaint… that being said I know you can handle yours… this is great expression ❤️

      • My daughter and I have a rule now. If one of us just needs to vent and isn’t seeking a solution, we preface the rant with “I’m just venting, I don’t need answers.” We both lean into fixing problems too. Our roommate, on the other hand, seems to think he knows the answer to fix everyone else’s problems, all the wisdom…but can’t seem to fix his own shit. We just stopped talking to him about anything at some point. Thank you, Brenda 🧡
