Summary:
The end is near and I watch seemingly the only one knowing

Disinterested
That’s all you ever were
You lured me in with talk
Constantly bothering me
That night during Mardi Gras
Fooled me to think you cared
But on went time
And your excuses seemed to grow

Indifferent
About the relationship blooming
Giving me an orchid
Did i feel my heart aflutter
I was never given a flower before
This feeling was painfully new
And I responded incorrectly
Was that when it all unfolded?

Unimportant
Did i feel even when gifted to
Any emotional depth was rare
No matter how I extracted from you
Was the orchid my only chance?
To discover real romance
That i never knew?
Was my reaction harmful to you?

Hurtful
Were the days I saw you
Trying to find the gleam that shone
So very bright and rare
Were your affections ever genuine?
Even for a brief moment?
Or was i just a filler for you
Because you couldn’t find another

Lonely
Did i often feel in your presence
Struggling to find things to do
Slowly watching your interest fade
Or was it ever really there?
I await for you to end things
Because I’ll never seem to do it
Has any of this meant anything to you?

Agitated
That you’ve finally found the other
Wondering if you’re giving a love
You briefly once shown me
Is this person so special to you
Do they get the pleasure of experiencing
A tender side I’ve been denied?
Would you care if I were to disappear?

Would it bother me, too?

    1. Great poet, every line carved so much with thought and feeling. I too think that deep. Many poets say it’s just thought. But even to get thought you need to undergo the feeling how you felt. It evoked my thoughts process as I relate to your lines. This poem is worth reading to refresh and forget the pain and i would say how person forgets the boundaries as when with alcohol and slowly feels the pain as the emotions errupt. I don’t drink but i know how when people drink forgets the surroundings and goes into their pain.

I really appreciate your poem. People need emotional vent and you are showing way it’s just not alcohol that heals the pain but writing thoughts into a beautiful poem relieves much heart ache.
