Sleep Paralysis

Summary:
I bet he's a cool guy

I often hear stories told
Of a figure watching one sleep
Commonly it walks towards
Occasionally it stands solid
In the corner

They speak of him like a monster
A scary wight with ill intent
The fear that creeps up their spines
As he lurches over their body
Seconds away

Though I can’t relate to those
Who know him personally
Instead I can’t see him
I can only hear his voice
And he might not mine

They call my savior a demon
But when I silently scream for help
Unable to move my slumbering vessel
He desperately calls out to me
Jolting me awake

    1. Chillingly penned, CV. Another excellent write with many layers my friend. I’ve experienced sleep paralysis before it wasn’t a very pleasant time. It felt like someone was sitting on my chest and I was unable to speak out loud, it was all internal dialogue, wondering if I’d be able to move again. I wouldn’t open my eyes till I was able to move. I don’t really know why other than I was afraid of coming face to face with the unknown. Amazing read my friend. Appreciate you.
