it started as a whisper

soft warnings…

just at the edges of awareness

the way a storm builds

only a murmur in the distance

drifting on a slight breeze

but it grew…

from a tiny sound

barely audible…

to a full blown roar

leaving nothing behind

only total destruction…

no going back now

too broken to survive

no repairing what’s been destroyed

scatter the ashes and call it done

it’s time for complete reconstruction

a convergence

a revolution

      • I just gave 2 weeks notice at my job this. I am pretty sure your poem is much deeper than that, but it is resonating pretty strong because of the job thing.
All the same, this is striking, and I want to again, and again, with a different mindset.

    1. Powerfully penned, Willow. Another excellent write with a protest vibe my friend. This one has some really heavy layers throughout. Also I really, really, dig the title. Chef’s kiss! Amazing read as always my friend. Appreciate you.

      • You know how I love me some word play and layers. Sometimes it doesn’t take a lot of words to say a lot. I’ve seen you do that time and time again. Thank you, my friend

    2. I like that You seem to write in different styles, the voice in this one is loud like how a true revolution should be. It goes tiny then the momentum is built bit by bit until the moment of explosion happens. Great writing my friend.

      • I feel like we’ve been living on the set of a horror thriller the past couple years. A lot of us saw it coming but many didn’t pay attention until it was screaming in the streets. It’s too broken to survive now. Time to start over. Thank you, Light💕
